The Road to Paris – who can do what? – Monday (23/02/15)

This event explored the ways in which the micro activities of individuals and institutions can link to the macro systemic change that is required to move towards a more sustainable global society and looked specifically at what this means in the run up to the Paris talks.

Mat Paterson, talked about the explosion of governance initiatives outside the UNFCCC and the opportunities they create for climate change action. Mat is Professor of Political Science at the University of Ottawa and was a lead author for the IPCC 5th Assessment Report.

Andy Dobson, will talked about a range of policy tools available to government to try to affect people’s climate-related behaviour, focussing on ‘sustainability citizenship’. Andy is Professor of Politics at Keele University and co-author of the Green Party’s (England and Wales) 2015 General Election Manifesto.
